Well not exactly …… but after Barry’s second concert there just months to the day, it was a huge success. With an entirely new program Barry was in top form as he entertained the 150 strong audience with his usual bright and snappy music played on his well travelled keyboard and the Ardrossan Town Hall’s grand piano. Guest artists for the day were Fay Davy with her smooth singing style, ably accompanied by Ardrossan local piano man Dave Philips.
The whole show was staged to raise funds for the local Women’s and Childrens hospital. Funds raised will be more than welcome for this worthy cause.
At the conclusion of the show, Barry described how very important music was in the care and well-being of the elderly and particularly those with dementia. To this end he recently recorded 380 songs for the well known Blue and Red book series of song books used extensively in retirement and nursing home facilities. The presentation sample packs which had been beautifully produced and just arrived on the morning of the concert, so it was a first for Ardrossan to be shown these great entertainment aids to the elderly.
